Sunday

The Oppression of Finitude

The discomfort of Sundays
comes from when my brother I was going to Guará to study;
It was reinforced when I also started going there…
It became clear on Sunday that he has gone to a place he will never return from.

Then it was my cousin Vieira, who also passed away in an accident on Sunday;
And now, finally, my mother-in-law, who succumbed on a Sunday.

Sunday, a day for the Lord and deep reverence;
A day that football fans might find beautiful…
On second thought, I prefer the "hardship" of starting life over on Monday.
That melancholy of watching yet another Sunday die.

It was on a Sunday that I became deaf.
It was on a Sunday that I saw my mother leave..
