Ad Hominem

To speak ill of me... no one better than myself!

Ten years ago, I started writing articles whose content often led to heated debates, and I discovered that when relevant arguments run out, incompetent people often launch attacks trying to disqualify their opponent by pointing to possible flaws in their character… it's quite ridiculous and ends up sounding pathetic, like "So-and-so can't talk about the theory of molecular expansion because he picks his nose!" The worst part is that there are naive people who let themselves be swayed by this kind of irrelevant argument and, as pawns, begin to disregard the author who was the victim of this. ad hominem fallacy“, without even considering that the core of the issue is unrelated to the personal qualities (or flaws) of the debater.

Why so serious?

“"The intelligent person learns from their own mistakes.",
"But the wise man... learns from the mistakes of others."”

As an author, I prefer those courageous individuals who admit their ignorance (or even those who simply refuse to learn for fear of shaking their convictions) to the false "wise men" who pretend to understand the subject while, in reality, they are unable to distinguish between apples and oranges and, lacking arguments, begin to feign an indifference that does not hide the reality that they would only like to shut you up... even if it meant cutting your jugular!

On the other hand, the birth of my daughter instilled in me a sense of urgency regarding my legacy, as I have seen many of my generation simply allowing themselves to be diluted and faded amidst the stupid and unjustifiable things that the media, governments, and religions have been shoving down society's throat using arguments such as "security," "tolerance," and "political correctness." Unlike my father, I intend to leave my descendants enough records so that they don't have to waste so much time imagining what their ancestor's life might have been like and what they would do in the face of any given situation or issue, and so that, having solid arguments (and not just soluble ignorance), they can agree or disagree with my positions.

Please note that just because I'm writing to children now doesn't mean the content will be childish! In fact, let me be clear: GET THE CHILDREN OUT OF THE ROOM, or at least be very careful: by sharing my life, my mistakes and my successes, I intend to give the wise the opportunities I didn't have or missed. Occasionally I will delve into complex subjects that will require a certain level of maturity: the process of maturing involves understanding things and, from that understanding, the ability to accept or reject what is offered to us.

The topics my pseudonym discusses end up having no basis whatsoever in the flawed and miserable human being that I am, so I thought it would be interesting to record something of what my life was and is, because often the conclusions I reach and the positions I defend are not the ones that would please me most, nor are they the most convenient for me: however friendly I may be, unfortunately my mission in writing is not to make friends, but to influence people… not always the ones I most want to influence, but those who have to be influenced regardless of my conveniences and desires.

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast in himself alone, and not in another. For each one will bear his own load.

(Galatians 6:3–5)

Finally, I decided to try telling my life story with commercial intentions, YES: if you like the content and it becomes a book, BUY IT, because this is the only life I have to tell the story and it may end up raising funds that help with survival — mine and my family's — and allow me time to write other things.

In any case, let it be very clear that THIS CONTENT IS NOT THE GOSPEL (which I publish). on that other website), because I am extremely serious about it and would in no way disobey what it dictates without leaving any doubt: “"Freely you have received, freely give"”.
